As many of you know I live in NJ. Lucky me.... anyway, they have changed the season for Coyotes here alowing hunting at night however, you have to use a shotgun. You have to use fine shot no larger than "T" shot and no smaller than #4. You can use electronic calls and hunt at night. Anyone else have any suggestions on getting them in close given the weapon restrictions. I would think 40 yards is about max if you want a clean kill.

I would probibly have gotten a lot more coyote if I did hunt with a shot gun. I like using a rifle with no recoil. I have used shot guns on ocasian both night and day and they do have there advatages. Get your self a red head lamp a good quality one. I don't know if they will allow you to attach a light to your barrel or not but it helps. Most of the coyote I have called in where with in shot gun range. If that is all that you are allowed to use make the most of it. I don't think you will be disadvantaged. Go get one and post the photo here.
