Christmas morning Crow

Post by Melvin Eades »

This morning around 7:20 I looked out into my field where I had left some deer carcass’s in hopes of getting a shot at a coyote. There were two crow eating on one of them and one was standing on top. I eased out the door with my CZ Varmint loaded with the 39 SBK and eased into a chair resting the rifle on the deck table. It was a calm, clear, frosty 15 degrees out.

Zoomed in.

The rifle was sighted in for 200 yards and I was thinking the deer were around 220 yards. I tried to hold an inch high and squeezed of a shot. Even on 14 power, I say the crow flip over backwards through the scope. I got the rangefinder out and it was 264 yards.

Melvin,

You truly have a bond with that .204. I've yet to make it out and try calling yotes. My brother Pat and I went out last Sunday with the local club and chases them with trucks. Didn't see very many though. Everyone says there aren't many yotes' around this year. Need to get off my lazy butt and get out. Great shot and keep the stories comming.
