Of note, if somebody has the inclination to try a wildcat, YOU need to work the loads up for YOUR rifle. I have three 223 AI's, none of them use the same load. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS DATA UNLESS YOU WORK UP!!!!!!!

Here is some velocity, bullet, and powder weight information.

All brass was fireformed last night and loaded today. Wind gusting 6-13 mph 20 degree right of center. Some of the loads can have the charge increased more and some of the loads are at the max.

75 gr AMax load using Benchmark provided an AWESOME group at 100 yards.

69 gr Nosler BTHP max load using H4895 was even better. Have a 3 shot node that is in the 1's. Believe I will work with this one a little bit.

I only tried the 55 gr VMax's just to try some. Will not be shooting bullets lighter than 69 grains in this rifle.

acloco,

In another life you must have been my little brother. As you post info on your projects I see so many things I've tested in the past.
Years ago I hotrodded a 223 with serious over-max powder charges(AI's were not in style yet) and I finally broke the rifle. I discovered that if I just shot a relatively conservative 22-250 load I had the same performance, less danger, and no broken parts.
Bless you little brother, and be carefull.

LOL!

Hotshot - notice that I am working up the loads with a chronograph. Which, really does not mean anything, but it makes me feel better. Best thing that a chrono can show you...when you velocity quits rising....y'all better quit while yer ahead!!! :)

Will post the 22/6mm AI info from this mornings jaunt to the range later today.
