Fringe benefits of coyote hunting.

Post by sicero »

I went out this morning and set up a half hour or so before daylight. When it started getting light before I started calling I started hearing deer coming thru the woodlot. I am not sure if they were all bucks because of low light and they were not all real close. I am not sure of the number either but at least eight and maybe as many as twelve as they were milling around but there were at least six antlered bucks and one I think might score 140 or so and one might score 20 or more higher. These two passed me at less than 20 yd. Made my day. Thinking of November. Better get my bow out and practice a bit. My real passion. Kenny

Many a time when I was calling I spotted deer they were trying to see where the noise was coming from and had stood up from there beds and where coming closer both when using a rabbit squiller and the coyote howler.
