Idaho badgers

We've been shooting a few badgers here in so.west Idaho. That's about all there is to shoot/hunt around here this time of year. I did see two big fat rockchucks out in the middle of a horse pasture yesterday. It was 1:30 p.m. amd 90 degrees. I was kinda surprised to see them. I can't get photo bucket to work, may be my computer.

Hey Broper.....same here buddy. Hotter than blazes, too hot to venture into the open desert now, but the rock chucks are still up, especially in town where you can't shoot 'em.

Photobucket is a day-by-day affair as to if it will work or not.....very unreliable pic site to be sure, but mine IS working today, so I'll post a pic of an unlucky Oregon badger for you taken with my M700 11-twist 204 (39gr SBK, stiff load of RL-10X at 226 yards.):

Have fun over there in ID, maybe by this time next year we'll all be actually able to buy powder, primers and bullets. We can hope, right?

They had about 8-10 bricks of primers and maybe a few more pounds of powder. If you need some let me know, as i live only 3 minutes from the store.

Hey RIO,
Good job on the badger. I kinda lost faith in the 39 gr. Sierra. I had one splash on a badger at about 200yds. and it got down a hole. A buddy had one splash on a coyote and it got away so, we pretty much just use them on whistle pigs and rockchucks. Also the 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon was more accurate in my rifle and puts badgers down hard.
The manager of Bi-Mart in Ontario said he "thinks" the shortage situation might be easing up a little. Said he expects to be getting more ammo in before too long. I hope it's better by next season.

FWIW, I switched from the 39 SBK's to the 35 Berger and have been quite pleased with the results on badgers and coyotes. Still using the 32 V-Max for rock chucks and smaller.

35 Bergers have been working better for me too. 30 Bergers are my choice for smaller targets but they have been discontinued so 32 V-Max may be a choice in the near future.

Yeah my buddy that had the splash on the coyote started using the 35 gr. Berger and he really likes their performance on coyotes.
