They winter down here next to the farm. Had 3 or 4 days like this over the past 2 months. This is from about 2 weeks ago, but it seems every time I hunt them there are a few more bird than last time.

For a first attempt peering through a scope lens, I'd say you did quite well.
Not sure about your F/U, .......was it the fact that you didn't pop the first one when it was in your crosshairs? Had my speakers turned off, so didn't hear anything in that regard, but it was DRT on the second one fer sure.
P.S. We're just starting to see those critters here mixed in with the Mourning Doves.....they're a much larger bird, and now fair game for my Beeman R-10 .20 cal and Silver Bear HP's in the yard. The starlings here get thrashed with that thing.
