Pawnee Grasslands PDog hunt 11/29 & 12/6

Post by PDog Rex »

With the weather cooperating for shooting I went out the past 2 weekends (11/29 & 12/6) to tear up some PDogs! :D
Very unusual this time of year to have descent weather mainly "low winds" to go out and shoot. Eventually up in the grasslands it will be
blowing 25 to 75 mph constantly in the next 5 months or so. With horizontal snow.
The 11/29 session was 55 degrees, sunny and breezy winds 10 to 20 mph, but had a great time. Today 12/6 was very overcast
and 39 degrees with NO wind. When I left the range it was 35 degrees.
Both days had great results with lots of carnage, only difference was the 11/29 hunt had lots of hawks feeding all around and today None,
I guess today they were somewhere else feeding as I heard lots of shots all around me.
Most shots from 200 yds out to 315 yds.

I am thinking maybe 60 to 70 days for me. All depends on the weather. I just finished running 100 rounds of 20VT thru my press. Still have lots of 204 and 223 from last year, because I prefer the VT anymore in the "Rat" fields. When I am finished loading the rest of my 600 pieces of brass for my VT, I think I can relax for a month or 2, as far as my shooting needs go! :chin:
