KANSAS PRARIE DOG HUNTING
Hey guys, has anybody shot prarie dogs in Kansas? Is there any decent populations in that state. If so,what part of the state would be the best place? I heard that a lot of countys poison the dog towns.Im not looking for your honey hole but would be thankful if someone could point me in the right direction in that state.

We've shot in western Kansas/eastern Colorado but because of protracted drought, and other factors, the numbers are down a bunch. I was shocked to see the total lack of vegetation. I can't speak to the poison issue but I know it happens. Usually, plague is the big population controller. This June (2013) we shot for 2 days in a huge colony that has seen a lot of pressure. 3 shooters took maybe a hundred each day and many were long shots. They were spooky buggers. My experience says look to the west side but don't expect to be overrun.
