First yote of the year for my son.

Post by Gube »

I happened to be at work last Saturday and called home to see how things were going. As I was talking to my wife, I could hear my youngest son in the background say that he could see a yote out wandering out back near the "round bale" that I had placed on the slough last winter for the Canada Geese to nest on. So my wife proceeds to give me the "play by play" of my son scrambling to grab the 204 out of the gun case and then race back upstairs for some ammo. In the mean time, mister yote is lookin like he is ready to do a hasty retreat. My wife lets him know so instead of putting some warm clothes on (it's about -25 deg C), he heads out onto the deck with just a pair of summer shorts on  , lays prone on the deck with about two inches of snow and sends a 39 gr BK into the yotes chest. A couple of spins and he was done.
And of course being a "cocky" young feller, he decided to take the "heroes pic" of what he was wearing (coat was extra) when he took the shot.

Summer shorts nd bare feet besides!!! He is one tough dude. I would have been shivering so bad I probably wouldn't have been able to pull the trigger. Congratulations to your young son on a fine shot!!!

Now that is a different story. Are you sure there was some Christmas "spirits" involved in the antifreeze? Good shooting!

OH! To be young again!!!
I have 2 nieces that went swimming in the Cook Inlet in Alaska, IN JUNE, a few years back. Seems like the cold doesn't bother these youngsters like it does us "old timers".
congrats to your youngun!
