Summer Coyote

Post by Ryan S Albright »

The weather here in So Cal has been great this summer low summer temps and losts of foggy mornings. Nice night time temps. So I decided to go after the coyote and have had some luck. I got this old male pretty much a mercy killing. I hadn't got 10 steps from my car to make a stand and saw him never even gave a call.Image A few day later I got another in the same place. There not much to look at this time of year but this was a call for help to thin the population down in an area over run by them. Both coyote were taken in the evening day light. Later I went for a night hunt all though I never got any the area is thick with coyote I had them calling all around me at close range. I am looking forward to making lots of stands in the area.

WTG! A dead coyote is a dead coyote no matter how you look at it. Nice!

This one was taken with the 204 Ruger ultra light using a 34gr dog town loaded with Tac powder. You can see how I center punched him through the ribs but ther was a tree in the way and I didn't want to loose him. The other one a young male I got with a 32gr vmax same result dead on the spot.
