SAVED $1300 ON A COOPER!

Post by RAMOS »

How did I do it? By waiting one more night to purchase the darn thing! Pulled it up this morning before calling the dealer and it's marked "SALE PENDING". I sent an e-mail to make sure I'm next in line. Being a left handed gun in .17 Mach IV, I foolishly thought I had time to dink around. Crap... just received a message from Mary @ Cabelas: "you are correct, this item has been sold". Stupid is as stupid does.

Ramos, my local gun shop has a sign the simply says "If you don't buy me today, I may not be here tomorrow". That sign has bitten me more than once! :wall: So repeat after me: "I WILL BUY IT WHEN I SEE IT" :D Gary

I know CZ makes a heck of a good gun. Problem is I have a full blown case of Cooperitis and from what I hear (like from RIO), there is only one cure. Worse yet, they say the "cure" is often only temporary. I'm not sure how many follow-up treatments I can afford.

Don't worry Gary, if I ever meet your' lovely bride I won't say a word! I wonder if I could get one of those reverse mortgages. Even months the check would go to Cooper and odd months it would go to Leupold. Losing the house would not be a big deal because my wife would kill me when she found out anyway!

OK how bout this.....

Well, I've heard that CZ actually makes a left handed rifle. Maybe not in a 17 Rem but you could buy a right handed 17 Rem CZ and a .204 left handed CZ, and swap the barrels, then sell the new right handed CZ.

I save $1300 on Coopers real often. Like every day.
They'll make another one just for you if you ask them to.
Seems like I see .223's real often for less than that and most other cal's bring that price or more. Guess I'll keep on saving.

Didn't exactly work that way for me. I waited until the day after the "$200 Off Coopers" sale at the local dealer expired, thinking I was safe from the temptation. But no, just had to pick up that .204 Varminter, then the sales guy said he'd sell it for the sale price...And to make matters "worse", a month later saw an ad at another dealer for 100 bucks off and thought there wouldn't be any way they'd have that Model 38 Phoenix in .221 Fireball I'd been thinking about for a walking varmint rifle in stock, but "hey, we can order you one for the sale price" and well, you know how that goes.
So, I guess I can say I did save $300 on 2 Coopers, but...

Rowdy,
Obviously, it's much better to save $300 on two Coopers than to save $1300 on one. You get to shoot both of your' new Coops! Mine is in some other guys safe. Congratulations!
