Got this one Sunday morning.....

Post by Keith in Ga »

and looks like he really needed killing. I was calling just off the sides of a big ridge, and had two coyotes come in to my Foxpro. Bad thing, they came over the ridge to my left and over my shoulder. I was calling down the hollow, thinking they would come uphill. I heard them coming and had to get my AR 15 off the shooting sticks and swing around hard to my left for a shot. The first one saw me move, and I couldn't get the scope on him quick enough. The second coyote was behind a tree, but when he trotted out I shot him thru the shoulder with a 60 gr v-max. He got "slammed" from about 20 yds and never moved a muscle.Image

You can see he was "eat up" with the mange. The other coyote had full fur and looked good. This male was probably 30 lbs, but I probably did him a favor!

Keith,

Even if it is just a coyote, you did this one a favor for putting a quick ending to an otherwise slow, painful death. I wonder what PETA would say if they came across an animal in this condition?
Enjoy it while you have it, because things will change.

That's a lucky dog. I doubt he would have been around after January up here. You did him a favor for sure.
