Last year my oldest son (14) decided he wanted to go out for the youth gun season here in Ohio and I was definatley ok with that. So early Saturday morning we got up and got ready for the morning hunt, we grabbed a snack as we walked out the door.
It was a crisp morning and I figured it would be a great morning. Daylight broke and we were set up on the ground by one of my ladder stands which has already had 3 deer taken from that spot. At around 8 o'clock my son said to me "man I'm getting hungry" and I looked at him and said "you ain't eating until you shoot a deer" and he had a look on his face like aw man I'm gonna starve. It wasn't 10 minutes later I was tapping him on his leg and saying "big buck big buck" and he thought I was messing around until I pointed and his jaw dropped! The buck was walking towards us and turned broadside at 35 yards and my boy let him have a taste of a 20 gauge slug. He walked a few yards and stopped again and I said "shoot him again" KAPOW he slowly walked out of sight. We gathered our thoughts and gave him a few minutes. We got up and walked towards where we last saw him and I glanced up the hill and all I seen was antlers! He was down about 10 yards from where we last saw him. My good friend was in another treestand and watched the whole thing through his binos. I replay this everyday in my mind and I am so glad we shared that together. I will never forget that morning!! PRICELESS I hope we have another great season this year! That's me holding his gun

NICE buck! Congrats to you both, especially your son. Way to go dad, hunting with your son, as those memories will last you both forever.
That's a very nice buck, and larger than most whitetails I see posted. Sweet!
