This one can! These shots were taken here of a nice 7 point bull swimming across a creek. He's a nice 7 point Roosevelt bull in his prime, well fed and fiesty.
Does anyone have a towel waiting?.....
No swim ladder needed....
Ah, that was refreshing....
Now, where did I leave those cows of mine?....
Now I remember, in this freakin' black timber.....
Does anyone think this boy will act like this during elk season?
NOT!

That is a fine specimen!
This summer there was a big fire that chased a bunch of elk and deer across Lake Roosevelt (NE WA state) the ferry operators have some pretty cool pictures of them swimming across the lake, which is about a mile or so across.

Very nice pics! Thanks for sharing! I really need to go sight in my muzzleloader now. Deer hair is hollow helps them swim, so I'd guess elk hair must be the same. Whitetail have a better rudder though

Alaskan deer and elk swim all the time between the islands and such out in the seas.

We've seen a whitetail 5 miles offshore in Lake Huron. I hope she wasn't swimming all the way from Canada, but it sure looked that way!

Wow nice pics Rick. I'm heading out on my annual elk bowhunt on Sept 3'rd. Can't wait to hear those big boys bugling.
