To build this scope now in this configuration, cost would be right at $1,000.00 (I checked).

PM me with interest. Everyone have a great spring varmint season. Thanks - Rick

Let the bidding begin! LOL

These are nice scopes. One thing that RIO did not mention as a GREAT tip.....see that bubble level on that scope, if you are not using one, you should. Best investment per dollar over ANYTHING I have purchased in terms of reloading components/equipment, barrels, bases, rings, or optics.

Rick.......Such a beautiful scope!! What are your replacing it with?
Etched retical?..........When did leupold start doing this? :chin: Custom orders only? Good luck on your next purchase. The person who purchases this scope is going to have a real jem. :wink: What is the total elevation adjustment ?? 100 MOA?
Later and enjoy spring varmint shooting!

acloco: You're right about the bubble level; what a huge difference it makes, as most of us cant the rifle off a rest weather we know it or not. Cheap, and really does make a difference.

Ray: Leupold uses etched reticles now, since about four years ago. The reticle is extremely crisp and sharp. You're also correct, it has 100 MOA of elevation and windage available. I'm replacing it with a 6.5-20X M1 LR for small targets at extended ranges like most of my other CF varmint rifles wear.

This seems to be a good varmint season so far, lots of squirrels and rock chucks. Next month is our Annual Rat Rodeo, so hope to have the new scope procured and mounted by then.....we'll see.

Rick,

I like that bubble. If you don't mind me asking where can one pick those up at (I have terrible time canting and it's darn critiacal for accuracy, especially if your group isn't dead center)?

I'm not Rick, but here's a link to one source for scope levels at Sinclair International:

http://www.sinclairintl.com/prod_detail ... ope-Levels

They have some scope levels that are offset to one side so you can actually have your eye up to the scope and see the bubble with your off-scope eye. They come in 1 inch and 30mm sizes. There are several other companies that sell these anti-cant levels, but Sinclair is where I bought both of mine.

As Silverfox pointed out.....here is some more:

http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/br ... string=657***

The USO brand is the best. But, you need to be using a weaver style mount to use them. They are also $80. I have one.....lucked into it. The rest of mine are the scope mounted variety.

Basically, it cut my group size by 1/4 to 1/3 at 700 yards on out.

Silverfox & acloco;

Thanks to each of you. I do have a question on this subject but I'll post it in the Optics area to prevent hijacking Rick's scope thats for sale.

By the way Rick, nice looking rig you have there.

Thanks Jim; she looks the same but different right now, as the 3.5-10X is now all boxed up ready for the new owner, and the Cooper ("Rosa") now wears a Lupy 6.5-20X LR M1 just like the one shown in the photo, but in the upper power range now more suitable for very small targets at extended range.

In three weeks Rosa will get put to the real test at our 11th Annual Rat Rodeo in N. Kalif. A five day shootin' fest of the first order, where 300 centerfire shots per day is conservative, and one must keep barrel heat in mind to prevent creating a smoothbore rifle without knowing it at the time. I'll post the adventure when we get back.

This is my first Cooper, but most likely will not be my only one either......now I see what all the fuss is about...... :wink: These are NICE rifles!

Well Rick, I picked up a VX3 LR 8.5-25x50 earlier this year and I've been tickled with it. She sits on top of my Remington 40-X. I had contemplated of rebarreling that rifle to a Varmint caliber but when I'm putting 5-shots down range @ 200 yds and they're all touching (litterly stacked on top of one another), it's hard to take that thing apart. What I like most about the new VX3 Leupold is;

#1; The reliabilty. When I move it either knob 2 clicks I get .5MOA, each-time, every-time.

#2; Generous eye relief.

#3; Clarity. Side-by-side with my Zeiss Conquest (4.5-14x50) on the same power, its hard to tell them apart. Even in the dark, they're very...very close with my eyes.

Don't know how the MK4 compares to the new VX3 line but the VX3 should quiet some of the Leupold critics. Darn nice scopes.

Wish I was in need of a scope like you're selling because I'd snatch it up.

Mark 4 is a step better than the VXIII line.

Jim - I have the same scope on my 22/6mm AI...it is TRULY prairie dog devastation.

AFAIK, the VARI-X-III, VX-III, VX3 are all different models with the VX3 being the newest.
