Looking for a .204
Looking for a .204
Trying to find a 204 in tikka with the longer barrel not the compact. Unfortunately i think they dont import them any longer. A cz in the kevlar varmint would be good too. Anyone know where one is or if anyone can get the tikkas still let me know. Thanks.

You might try some of the Sportsman Warehouse sites. I know the Reno, Nv had some still in the racks, other may also.

Re: Looking for a .204
If Tikka has even made any of the new T3x Varmints in .204, it doesn’t look like they’re getting any in Canada, either (although I see they sell one in .222 with a wooden stock up there I’d love to have, but bet it’s a hassle to import one now!)
Haven’t seen one of those older .204 Varmints or Super Varmints new or used for sale in years; I had a line on one 5-6 years ago, but lucked into one of those CZ Kevlars you mentioned instead. FWIW, you could always buy a wood-stock 527 Varmint and put a Bell and Carlson or HS Precision Varmint stock on it and have a clone.

Re: Looking for a .204
Thanks for the replies. The only tikka in .204 being imported to the US, as far as I know, is the t3x compact with the 20 inch barrel. I have a tikka in .243 and would love one in .204 but the 20 inch barrel is a little short for my liking. Those varmint and super varmints look sweet but think they are impossible to get here. Haven't seen a cz kevlar for sale in years, keep hoping one pops up. A 527 varmint may be as close as I can get these days.

I was just curious. I have a CZ527 Anerican in 204 and I really like it as a walk around rig. Its ok on the bench to but I have to be careful and not over heat it in a hot rat patch.

Re: Looking for a .204
Any of the light sporter type barrels, as on the American, need to allowed to cool, as they do heat up fast. You need to take a 2nd or 3rd rifle along and switch around, letting each cool down in a rat field.

Although I like p dog hunting, I am a good drive away from the first town. So I mostly coyote hunt. The 527 shines as a walking varmint gun. A guy needs a heavy barrel for a dog town.

A few good walk about's and a few heavier barreled rifles are always best, for a day of various shooting styles or trips. Can a person have too many Maybe, maybe not
