Scope Canting

I came across this link on the subject of web and thought I'd pass it on. It points out what canting a rifle does (which is why i don't like to do it, ever) but the same principals would apply if the rifle scope is ever so crooked and remember it increases as the distance grows and it also does not account for wind shifts.

Jim, when I went thru the process of making sure my scope was level with the action on a 243 Sako, I noticed I was hitting with more regularity. Also, hitting them where I had aimed at 200 yards and further. Since then I have put levels on all my rifles that I shoot. I will attest, it makes one heck of a difference in accuracy.

That link explained scope cant real simple. I was in the process of installing my homemade device anyways. :chin: Correcting cant would appear to be one the easiest corrections to make and monitor. I used to always level crosshair with target or backdrop. Now I'll do some testing with a level!
