Nikon Monarch on a CZ 527

Post by Unclebob4 »

I have ordered a Nikon Monarch 4-16X50 for my new CZ 527 and need to know if there is anyone out there with the same set up. What Rings Do I Use??????? I suspect the CZ rings will be too low to allow for the Ocular lens to clear the bolt, but how about the Burris or Leupold rings. I know there has to be someone out there that has this great shooting gun with this setup.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know if this will help but for a while I had a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44 on my CZ-527 American. The rings that came with the rifle worked fine, plenty of clearence on the objective end. The eye piece end cleared the bolt but its close (as it is for the Zeiss Conquest thats on there now).

I have a CZ 527 with Warne High Rings and they clear my Zeiss Conquest 4.5-15x50. I had a monarch on it 4-16x42? and the rear occular barely clears the bolt, but the front had lots of room. I think with the Warne highs you'll be fine on both ends. The CZ rings if I remember right are about .110 higher (.625) than the Warne high rings (.535) so they should work. I know the Talley's highs are even higher. I bought 3 sets of rings and the CZ's came with the gun so I had all 4 to choose from and the Warne High's I liked the best.

I also clearanced/shaved the bolt to give more clearance to the rear eye piece. The Monarch has a bigger eye piece than the Conquest. I might try and upload some pics.

Jantzer. How much did you take off of the bolt, and how did you finish it after you took some of the metal off?
The Monarch has the largest of the oculars and I may have to take a little off of the bolt.
Thanks for the help.
