I think the CH3 reticle is NOT illuminated but I am not 100%. I was looking into them awhile back(dreaming) and it seems to me that it wasn't illuminated and it is a fine crosshair reticle. -Dan

I have a Nightforce 12-24X56 Benchrest Model with the CH-3 reticle which is illuminated. I had to pay extra for the CH-3 on the Benchrest Model. It would have been free on the NXS Model. Don't ask me why they don't offer a fine crosshair on the Benchrest Model. You can get it illuminated.
