Digital Rifle Scopes

Not too long ago I peered through the eyepiece of my Canon A1 to compose my pictures. Nowdays, I look at the display on the back of my digital Nikon Coolpix P5000 to compose my pictures and can make adjustments. I can even see what my picture will look like before I press the shutter button. Elcan makes a digital scope that allows you to change crosshairs styles and size, uses infrared light to enhance low light situations and even compensates for drop at varying distances. I wonder how long it will be before everyone has a digital scope on their rifle. I wonder if we will even need to worry about spot weld, mirage or other such things while shooting. I can see the scope industry following the same path as cameras in the not so distant future. Anyone have any experience with digital scopes? I know some of our members have intimate relationships with some of the scope manufacturers. Any news on the future of digital scopes. I'm ready.
