Scope options for my Anschutz

Post by Squatting Wolf »

Has anyone use a Leupold FX-III Silhouette Golden Ring 30x40 scope? I'm looking to put a new scope on my bench .22 and I am leaning towards a fixed power scope this time since the gun is typically dialed in to shoot 50 yards and rarely shoots anything longer than that. The other option I am looking at is Leupold 35x45mm Competition Series which is about 400 bucks more than the FX-III.

Thanks!

I'm sure there are othe great bench scopes out there as well, any info would be appreciated!

I have a 35x45 comp with target dot and like it a lot. I think a 35x is a little much for 50 yards, And I love optic power. Unless, you plan on doing surgery on a Nats colon at 50  Go for it :P

I've got an variable 36 power that came with the gun on there now but I hate the eye relief. I'm going to check out the gun show here at the end of the month and see if anyone actually has one of the competition scopes. I'd like to see it in person before picking one up!

Matt: Next week I'll have a like-new Leupold VX-III 6.5-20X w/AO, fine crosshairs w/Leupold 1/8 Min Dot, matte, with target turrets available for sale. Box, papers, warranty card, Leupold green cloth, etc.

I haven't set the price yet, but if you have interest, PM me and we'll sort it out. Photos available too.

I just picked up a few Weaver T36's for doing some load testing. I have never used them before but have heard/read good things about them. For the price I paid I dont think I could do better. It's interesting that they can be focused down to 50 feet. I am going to see how they handle recoil though and how I do with the short/critical eye relief :)

The eye relief is the reason I'll be getting rid of the scope that is currently on the Anschutz. It just doesn't work for me!

Rick - I sent you a PM.
