scope mounts for new cooper

Post by J-Rat »

Howdy , I'm new to this forum, lots of good info here.
I ordered a Cooper MTV .204R a few months back. I plan to use a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x40 LR.
I'm looking at the Talley light weight 2 piece 30 mm low mt. rings.
Anyone using these? Will the scope clear the barrel?
Thanks

Yep, the 40mm will clear with Talley Low Rings.

Welcome to the 204um....be sure to share a pic of your new Cooper when she's done. :D

J-Rat - This is what your new rifle will look like with that scope, but in Leupold Low Rings here:

My Cooper M21 MTV in 204.....known affectionatly as "Wicked Wanda"......the sage rats and rock chucks around here really hate her! Mine's a real shooter, I'm guessing yours will be too. It'll be worth the wait, I promise.

Rick does do a decent job with his photography. I have a other hand being a rank amateur am not capable of generating such wonderful photography. However, having said that I include for the record a picture of my Cooper 17 HMR with .260 varmint rifle. So without further ado here it is:

Hey Gary.
I picked up the rifle about a year ago. Well worth the wait. ( It took a year. ) It's the best shooting rifle that I own, either target shooting or thinning the herd. It gets the job done and looks good doing it.
The target pic is 5 @ 100 yards.

Nice rig, J-Rat! And nice shooting.

Question, that looks like Redding/Red Bluff/Cottonwood country to me. Am I close?
