Sorry for the delayed reply.

I was quite pleased with what I saw with the Leupold Switch set-up and I believe the 7/12 x 32 is the ticket for me.

Regarding the range finder I'm still looking into those. I like the Leica because of its clarity, bright reticle and compact size and it appears the new 1600 series that just came out (or on its way out) has the TBR/BIS system as well. Its spendy (just a tad above the the Zeiss but under the Swarovski).

The Leupold model you mentioned is also compact and fairly clear but one thing I've read about it is how cumbersome it is to adjust the illumination up/down. I looked at one and compared to the others (and for the $$$) it seemed pretty good. The store where I saw it said the illumination could not be adjusted, I read since that it could so I don't know but it was bright.
