cracker, i use a 6500 2.5 to 16 x 42on my 17 fireball. My Schmidt & Bender has the edge in low light conditions. If i could go back i would buy the 6500 with a bigger objective than 42mm, probably 50mm. Apart from first and last light i am more than happy with the Bush. Cheers, Ken. :D

My new 204 T3 lite is adorned with the Elite 6500 2.5 - 16 X 42 with mil dot reticle. I find it to be quite crisp and clear. The other deciding factor in purchasing this particular one is the range that it comes with. 2.5 for the up close and personal called in yotes and then all the way up to 16 for the longer range stuff. The optical range was a "win win" for my light weight yote calling rifle.

I have just put a 6500 2.5-16x 50 on my 223 - seems pretty good - can see .204 and 223 holes in targets at 100 yards.

Clarity is good - havn't tried it in ow light yet where the 50mm obj and 30mm tube should perform well.

Certainly well made - optically seems a notch better than my 3200's.

Just curious, have you had it at the range yet? I'm curious to know that on max-power settings how is the clarity, resolution and distortion? Is it still clear and crisp or does it get a little hazy.

Thanks,

Hi Jim

Had it at the range for the first time on the weekend

At 16x it did lose a little in sharpness - but I could still pick up .204 holes - so it was certainly very usable at 16x

Thanks.

I kinda' figured it would, after all 2.5-16x is a lot to demand of a scope. FWIW, my 6-24 Nikon Monarch does the same thing from 20-25x. However, being able to see 20 cal holes @ 200 yds says a lot too. Been thinking about a 4.5-30x fro my 6mm.

Thanks,

Jim
