Extra High Scope Rings not High enough!

Post by Ryan S Albright »

The extra high 30mm scope rings arrived to day from Midway I bought the leupold rings for the Ruger Target Gray to fit the 5x25x56AO Millet scope that my daughter got from her boss who advertises for Millet for me to try out. The rings are not high enough. Do I have to move the rear ring forward then order another for the rear to get a fit? I e-mailed Leupold there is no e mail for Ruger.

Ryan,

I've seen advertised by Leupold or Burris or some major company, a base for the Ruger receiver that changes from Ruger rings to Weaver style.
If you used those bases it would gain height just from the base itself then you would have your choice of all the Weaver type rings available.
That might be an easy solution for your problem.

Hello Ryan, I had the same problem. Solved it by getting the Burris Ruger/adapter from Brownells, and X-high Weaver rings.

I found the Weaver adapters for the Ruger at Brownell's. I had to go to Midway for 30mm high rings. they were out of just about every thing high in 30mm I finely found some Millet rings in 30mm high. Thanks for the help.

Midsouth had them for $13 dollars less than Brownells. I've received the Weaver adapters. I am still waiting on the rings. Milletts has a new tactical scope out with a 35mm tube and 56mm objective it comes with its own rings and flip up lense covers. Millett must have the idea big is better.
