Project .223AI Load Development

I went to the range today to shoot a few loads I worked up for Project .223AI. The wind kicked up very quickly so between that and my self induced flyers I only sent about 30 rounds down range. Despite the conditions I have a couple loads worth further investigation.

35-40F Sunny/Windy

Windy and a called flier.

Another conservative load with a flier by me.

I did notice my loads are a bit on the conservative side with absolutely no signs of pressure. I was being cautions as I have never loaded for the .223AI before. Next trip I should have more time, loads and better weather. At least the rifle shows potential.

This is the barrel you worked up, I am very pleased with the results so far. The rifle handles far better than it did with the 26" heavy varmint barrel that was on there before. I told myself I would be happy if it shot half as good, but it shows signs of being equally as impressive. I need to spend more time with load development and do a better job at the range to really see what it will do.
