On my new (new to me) .220 Swift, Rem 700 VSSF 2002 model.
I took a tip from Rick from Oregan and tried some 55gr Nosler BTs over RL-15. They showed some great promise for my 1st time out. I think I'm going to love this rifle but first I'll need to get a better trigger and a muzzle brake. The flier on the 1st green target was caused by me, friggin remmy trigger , on the 2nd green target my buddy yanked one and then told me that he too thinks that Remmy triggers suck.

hozz57 thats nice looking groups my 22-250 likes the nosler 55 bt also. do you know if the rl-15 is more temp stable than h380?

Robert, This was the 1st time I have used RL-15. I had NO signs of pressure and the ESs were decent. I am going to load up 100 with my 2nd to last load test (37gr RL-15, 55gr Nos BT, av. vel. 3760fps). This load matches my 204's ballistics (39gr Sierra BK, 25.1gr RL-10x, 3850fps) so I'll be able use the same come-up chart for both. I'm sure I could get more velocity but I want to make this barrel last as long as I can. I will be using it as a cool down gun for my .204 this coming weekend up in dogtown.

I had way to many "sticky" bolt lifts with H380 so I am going to wait until it cools way down before I work up another load with it.

hozz: I see you're on the right track with that Swift and RL-15, Rem 9-1/2. My Pet Load is 38.0grs with the Nosler 55BT, giving 3/8" cloverleafs concistently.

Those groups show alot of promise, Skippy is really gonna hate that Swift!

I got my trigger down to a hain under 2 1/2# on my VSSF II. The local gunsmith did it for $25. I like it and have reason to change.

A friend of mine adjusted my Factory Remington trigger for me...................it breaks like glass at 1.25#'s!

Just have it tweaked - or get a Rifle Basix. They are inexpensive.

I have a guy here that is installing a Hollnd's muzzle brake and he said he could adjust the trigger for me, so I'll wait and see if I like it.But all that has to wait 'til after quelling an uprising on the praire this weekend.
