titegroup mixed in BL-C(2)

looking for opinions, I discovered after putting powder in two cases that I was using Titegroup this mistake was compounded by me dumping the 57 grains back into the BL-C (2) canister, so I thoroughly mixed the full pound of powder in a bowl and am now considering whether to use the powder mix, what do you all think?
my load of BL-C(2) for the 204 in my Savage M12 is a minimum charge, but Titegroup is #14 on the burn rate chart, and BL-C(2) is #102 out of 144 powders, if I figure the two powders are mixed thoroughly the Titegroup comprises .8% of the pound.

Don't think I would try using it, even with that small amount into the BL-C(2) it is more a chemistry mix or reaction that could cause you trouble. Like you hate too waste powder, but safety/injury takes priority. Bill K

thanks, Bill, that's pretty much where I'm at especially after reading your reply. My reloading cave is violated with Christmas decorations temporarily, and that's a causative factor, but it's on me...sigh.

Agree with Bill. I've made blunders like that too in the past. Heck, you can't handload for 50 years without making a few dumb moves in all that time.

Chalk it up to experience, dump the mix and be glad you didn't have any unfortunate surprises in the field with the contaminated loads. Best to be rid of a pound of powder, instead of a pound of vital body parts!

good advice from both of you, I wanted to think that a small amount wouldn't matter but it just didn't feel right hence the question. was definitely an "oh S__t" moment when I realized where I dumped the powder.

That's a head slapper for sure but $30 worth of powder vrs the potential damage to yourself or firearm makes it an easy decision. Not to mention, it may me at the table next to you at the range. Let's go shoot again-I have a couple more load combinations to try out and I've re-borrowed the chrony from my son. R!

Let's see. There are 7,000 grains in 1 pound.. I sort of doubt that a mere 57 grains of any powder thoroughly mixed in would be dangerous. It would seem to me that it would be diluted to a point that it couldn't possibly be dangerous in a modern firearm in good condition. If I did use it in my rifle, I'd ignore max load tables and start at the very bottom and carefully work up.

Yeah logic told me that, but it bothered me to no end and I figured I'd reloaded to long W/O any accidents to take any chances, so I used it to ignite a slash pile...pretty fun.

I repeat again, it is not the small amount of powder you dumped in, it could well no cause any harm, in the small amount/weight you put in, BUT the chemical reaction is what could change the character of the whole lot and that could make it dangerous. Just not worth the risk. Bill K
