220 Swift Powder?

I thought I'd do a quick survey & see what powder & bullet combo your Swift likes. I know all guns are different with their own quirks but thought I'd just see what yours liked. My old Remington 700 Swift loves IMR 4064 & 55 Nosler BT's. I've got 2 more, a Remington VSSF I and a new Ruger 77 MKII VT target that I haven't started loading for yet. I'm an oddball, I love my Swifts, love over bore, and love speed. Thanks for any feed back.

760/414/2700 always does well in the 35-55gr range for my clan. A friend loves Varget.

Been wanting to buy some 2700. What's your thought on that powder & what else do you use it in? JD

760=414=2700, just normal lot variations apply.
I use it in many things, but the big 3 are: 243, 6.5 Creed, 270.
That powder is rather old tech, so it can be a little cranky if you are running full fire loads. If you do, have a summer load and a winter load. I found a load in my 243 which is about 80% of max, I shoot it anytime of the year.

Though to be fair, that "issue" wasn't the case in the Creed, so it could relate back to the 243 and its infamy with Pressure excursions.

Either way I've burned A LOT of that powder over the years.

When I had a Ruger No. 1 V in 220 Swift, I tried nearly every powder others recommended. In the end, I settled on a single load that gave me 1" groups at 200 yards and sub-1/2" groups at 100 yards. That load was 37.5 gr of IMR 4064 with a Berger 55 gr. Varmint/Target bullet in whatever brass was available and Wolf Standard large rifle primers.
