Reloading bench

Post by Glen »

Dad has been after me for the last 6 months or so to get all his reloading things out of the basement. So about 2 weeks ago I got started here at the house. I built a 2x6 frame & laid a piece of 2/4 Oak ply over it. Built the shelves from some leftover ply from another project. Laid on 2 coats of poly. I now have the old Lyman mounted on the right, The MEC JR on the left & the powder measure mounted solid. Everything that belongs under the shelves is now back under it. I de-capped, resized, primered a little over 300 20ga yesterday. My Brother stopped last night & he reset the crimp dies for me & loaded a couple shells. Then I loaded my 1st reload. a 20ga with 7's for crows.

Thanks guys. I do dabble in woodworking so maybe that's why it looks 1/2 way decent.

Rick-- I'm certain that is a temporary look.  Now I need to figure out where to put the shotgun shells.

I would repeat what Rick said, about my bench/room area also, but I am afraid you would look in the door, go  turn around and run the other direction. Very nice set up and bench you have made. Bill K :)

Thanks Bill!! Like I told Rick before. I'm sure the cleanliness is merely temporary.  I did put up 100rds of 20ga this afternoon. Only another 300+ hulls to fill up!!

RIO--Bill

This is what my woodworking shop looked like a few short years ago. Does this resemble your benches?? I didn't think so!!

If I could ever learn or post a photo here, I would send you one of mine, at the present. But "YES" it would look more like this one, than your new one, for sure... Bill K :)

 Actually that mess was from when I re-wired the garage & put in insulation & hung 1/2" OSB on the walls. Then I built a 16' bench down the right side. What a huge difference!!

I drop my pics into photobucket. Then copy the IMG code from there & paste it into the reply box. Some forum software doesn't like it when you use the Preview tab before posting when you have a pic in it. I don't know why. Maybe that's a problem if you're trying to Preview.

Yes Glen they are extra shelves. I cut a handful of shelves not knowing how many I'd use.

Looks like all you need for those extra shelves is another cabinet next to the 1st one. You have the corner space for it.

Finished product. Instead of a cabinet alongside my bench I made one for the top Image

I like the hutch idea for the back of the bench. Lots of extra storage within easy reach yet out of the way. You done good!!

Now all that's left is to tear it all down. Move it outta the way. And drywall the room!!
