Has this been wildcatted before? How about about necking down a Ruger 204 case to 17cal! :huh:
Should get some great velocity............don't know if it would be a barrel burner?

Ray: As for "done before", when it comes to rifle cases, if it CAN be wildcatted, it probably HAS been done. By the time a guy had a reamer made up to wildcat the 204R to 17 caliber, you'd basically end up with the 17 Remington, more or less.

And 'yes', I believe on the 222 Mag/204 Ruger case, it would indeed be a barrel burner. Mondo velocity, but at a high cost. I'll stay happy with my 17M4, 17AH, and my 204's. ;)

Rick.......Thanks I had a hard time handling and loading for that little 204, after handling 30cal and 338 cal bullets! I couldn't amagin handling those little 17 cal pills. :!:
Right now I'm happy with 17HMR.
