Target for load work

Post by E5B »

I really liked the Caldwell Tip Top targets for load development. Now that these targets are discontinued I'm searching for a new product similar to the Tip Top.

What do you use for load work?

FYI - black and white targets work the best. Human eyes, do well with high contrast, and not color.

acloco - Did you notice the B/W BR targets offered on the 6mmbr site near the bottom of the page? They've got the 100 & 200 Yd BR targets and others all in B/W.....my personal preference also.

Haven't seen you around here much lately, Tom....what you been up to? Workin' on a secret project? :chin:

Here's the target I prefer for load work up and sight in. The squares are 1 in square. The horizontal lines are spaced at 1 in. This allows you to see and get a good idea of the size of your groups. and, or make adjustments on the scope for sight in. The right hand corner is for technical info on your reloads and weather, temp, and wind info. I was taught to "hold" with the cross hair intersection on one of the corners of the squares. This allows for exact hold points on each shot. Just my preference.

Yes!!! on the 6mmbr targets.

..and yes on the second. Have a few ideas and just need to spend some time in front of the lathe. :)

....and...have been teaching concealed class nearly every weekend and getting ready for a couple NRA classes that I am teaching as well.

So, like everybody else, just looking for T I M E! :)

I too prefer the Hoppe's Crosshair target. I like putting the crosshairs right on the center lines of the target. I prefer the non black targets as I can see the hits better since they are the darkest thing on the target.
