Yep, and it'll get crazier if/when Mr. Potatohead launches restrictions on components or amount of loaded ammo we can have on hand.

I do have 2,000 Large Rifle Magnum primers on hand I don't need, and will trade for Large Pistol if anyone is interested. Not even gonna try to scrounge up any Small Rifles.....glad I've got lots on hand.

Anyone need Large Rifle Magnum?

I've got 2000 small rifle magnums, but no small rifle. Gonna try some Rem 7 1/2s in my 17 hornet and see how much more velocity they give. I learned my lesson and will keep a year supply of everything on hand at all times. Primers I wasn't ready for.

Same here was not ready for the primer problems. My local dealer , a major dealer i will add , says could be up to a year before he sees his primers. Maybe they should ban golf balls?????

A year??? That's bonkers!!!

I don't get the absolute lack of primers at the bigger companies like Powder Valley and such. Why are they not at least getting their normal resupply?

Because the components are being used for ammo production. Reloader ae the last ones in line.

I think it's all about timing and luck. I was in a local gun store and they received a shipment of CCI 400's. I grabbed a box. Then today I took my new Ruger #1V to the range and they got a case of Remington 7 1/2's so I grabbed a couple boxes..

Now I have 3000 primers so should be good for a little while.

They're coming in, just have to keep plugging away.

This may be where all the primers are going.

just picked up 1000 in johnsoncity TN. They had plenty. I thought a little pricey at $38 after tax but they probably had 30000 or more.

I went to a small gun show a couple of weeks ago, a Dealer had over 100,000+ primers at $70.00 and $80.00 per 1,000. Powders, Bullets, & Brass were as bad also. He was Robbing reloaders due to the shortage. I refused to buy ANYTHING from him due to his GREEDY pricing. Others did, so he will keep selling for these OUTRAGEOUS Prices. $38.00 a thousand as brokeasajoke posted is not that bad. I would pay up to $40.00 a thousand for the ones I use. Just not the Idiot pricing I saw at the Gun Show.

Luckily I have around 8,000 Rem 7 1/2,CCI BR4,and CCI 450. It's crazy the prices people are asking for them and even crazier the prices people are willing to pay.

I just received 3000 Remington 7 1/2 from Gamaliels that were back ordered in Feb.

Most shops here have CCI SR. I'm starting to see more items available.

Smitty, where in New York are you? Beikirchs in East Rochester just got in a good supply of CCI BR4 primers. They jacked the price way up to $50 a brick but at least they have them.

Anybody remember the primer shortage in 1984? Since then I have always kept a few extra on hand....but this is ridiculous!! My lgs tells me he has also heard a year before we get caught up on ammo or components. How many million .22 long rifle are made daily?? Where are all of those??
shooting fishing camping did I mention shooting??
