Hi Guys
I had a silencer that needed replacing due to defects. I have also just settled on a load and OAL for my .204. I got the silencer swapped over yeaterday and have not been out shootng yet. The plan for today was to finally produce an large batch of the accurate ammo I have developed over the last month but I now have doubt in the back of my mind as to whether the replacement silencer will affect the way the current load shoots?
It is the exact model silencer etc but obviously new.
Can anyone experienced assist me with this?
Thanks,
Si

More than likely, it will change.
Sometimes, even removing, cleaning, and re-installing a suppressor might change point of impact and accuracy as well.

Re: Silencer replacement - will it affect barrel harmonics?
si-snipe, I have two moderaters, a T4AR and a T8. I swop these between four rifles on a regular basis and don't experience any shift in zero on relacing them. Zeroed with a mod on, the groups move vertically up by about 2" if fired without the mod. These moderaters are non tear down designs and get an occasional sqirt of wd40 to keep rust at bay.The crud from each round must gradually build up inside and change the internal dimensions, this,i think will alter the resonance, but i have not had to re-zero. Will be interested if you find a difference. Please let us know.Regards, Ken.

Thanks Ken. I presume you reload and have fine tuned accuracy, that being the case do you find any group size difference when swapping the mods on say your best, most accurate rifle?
I am hoping to test soon but the weather may keep me at bay until next weekend!!
Cheers,
Si

si-snipe,Just got 3 rifles rebarreled with Pac-Nor sssm in december, .14/221...204r and .243. Over the past 6months i have got all required loading gear for those 3, plus my .17fb.Am now busy assembling starter and intermediate loads for testing with various bullet weights. Before the new barrels i only used factory ammo and if i could shoot 1/2moa off the bi-pod i was very happy Ken. Ps. my groups, like fools, seldom differ.
