I have to assume that the above bullets are seconds. Couple of questions, are those made by american companies and how do they shoot compared to Hornady bullets in 204 and 223?

I Believe that they are made by Nosler and they are the same bullet as the Midway Dogtowns. I have both. As far as I know their design is unique so they aren't seconds. Just a cheaper bullet. They have a rather large hollow point. I use them in a 204 and you can get decent accuracy out of them. For cheap shooting they are hard to beat.

They are lead point soft point bullets some have cannalures on them. I get 3/4" groups all day long w/ my AR, and they have a good pop on the poochie dogs..... Not hollow points. I use them! -Dan

Both bullets are indeed Nosler's, made as 'bulk' bullets for mass marketing, and much cheaper to produce and thereby sell than the Ballistic Tips.

Every box of Nightmare X-tremes and Midway dogtowns are 34 grain hollowpoints in a 20 cal. I have 1500 on hand right now and have shot at least that many. I have to edit this post. Some of the .224 dia nightmare bullets are softpoints but all the 20 cal are hollowpoints. Dave

They are a great buy if you are just using them for squirrels. I bought a thousand of them on sale from Mid south. When you are loading for the alfalfa fields where you will be shooting hundreds of rounds a day they are priced right. There is nothing cheaper out there. If they hit there target why use more expensive bullets. I have heard that they should be kept at around 3,800 fps. which works well with ball powders which also reloads fast and easy a good combo for loading lots of bullets in a short time for the killing fields.
