What exactly is a cratered primer? What do u look for. Sorry for my ignorance.

I believe that the crater is known as the Sedan crater. It is an early nuclear test in the Nevada test site desert.

I experienced cratered primers once along with duds. :chin: :wall:
I'm assuming the anvil in the primer isn't supporting the firing pin.

I held a casing and looked at the primer pocket with a magnifing
glass and noticed that the base of the pocket wasn't flat.

Where the walls meet the base was curved. So I bought a pocket uniformer had haven't had anymore problems.
