I have some brass from factory loads, they all measure around 1.270 and my manuals state the brass to be 1.285 long. I have a good load for hunting that is 24 grains ofh110, cci mag primers and the hornady 240 gr hp/xtp. they shoot great. the brass I loaded these loads in were 1.280 long. (24 grains of h110 is max) can i load this load in the 1.270 lengh brass. I though of maybr dropping the charge to 23.5grain. this powder has a min load of 23 grain and a max of 24 grain. It is stated in all i have read on this powder to never drop below min or go over max, which is good advice on any powder.

Re: 44 mag brass lenght
1.285 is the max length they want to be. My case trimmer manual said to trim them to 1.275, my other two manuals also say to trim to 1.275. has far as use 24 grains I think you'd be fine. My hornady manual said max load with 240 gr. XTP's is 24.8 grains of powder using H110.
