I currently reload a 204 and a 22-250. I use H4895 and Varget respectively. Would either of these powders work for the 17 Remington? I have read conflicting reloading data from Hodgdon and Hornady on the use of Varget (regarding velocities). I am planning on using the 25g Vmax. Is there anyone out there with experience using this bullet/powder combo?
Thanks

Re: 17 Remington Reloading
My 17 Rem in a Rem 700 LOVES H4895, CCI 450, & RP brass. My barrel shoots the 20 gr VMax ok...but nothing to write home about.
25 gr HP's or Hornady 25 gr VMax are a definite improvement.

Re: 17 Remington Reloading
25 Gr Hornady HP bullet, 22.0 - 24.5 MAX Gr Varget powder, CCI-BR-4 primer , Remington cases. //// Same data except 21.0 -23.0 Gr MAX H4895 powder --from reloading book Every rifle is different , the only way to know what a rifle will do is work up some test loads. Good luck
