Re: Downsides to the 204 for coyotes
I hear a lot of talk about .204 Ruger splat. Not with a good hunting bullet. I took this hog with a Hornady Vmax, 40g. Admittedly, it is a small hog but, as you can see, there is a lot of tissue damage and bone shrapnel from neck vertebrae. I always try for the neck, especially near the shoulder. Th...

Re: Factory Ammo
In the long run it may be better just to buy a new rifle in 223--supply of ammo seems endless.

Re: Factory Ammo
Wow!! Just checked out the 'scam' website. Many testimonials of being scammed. Customers didn't get product or refunds and banks didn't honor disputes!! Thanks guys, so grateful. Saved me a bunch. This is a great website!!!

Re: Factory Ammo
No, I no longer reload (used to handload 30-06, 25-06, 357 Magnum). I don't shoot enough to make it worthwhile to gear up for .204 Ruger. Even bulk lots aren't available from the major outlets I mentioned. I might be up for a 500 rd lot if loaded with good hunting bullets from Tacticool, I'll check ...

Factory Ammo
I know you guys handload your own, are components are readily available to you---primers, .204 caliber bullets, powder, etc. I haven't been able to find factory ammo for months. None locally and none available online (Brownells, MidSouth shooters, Natchez SS, etc., Sportsman Warehouse, etc.). Are yo...

Re: Anyone shooting only (mostly) heavy bullets in a 204?
Skipper and others had interesting observations about stabilizing .204 Ruger bullets in 1:12 twist barrels. My CZ 527 came with a 1:12 twist barrel and it stabilizes 40gr Federal V-Shoks and 40 gr Remington AccuTips perfectly at 100yds. Not so 40 gr Hornady V-Max bullets. They leave an 'egg-shaped' ...

Re: *Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge
Virtually no ammo on shelves or online sellers--Brownells, MidwayUSA, MidSouth Shooters, Sportsmans Warehouse, Shooters World, etc. If you know of a supplier please let me know. I no longer handload. Components aren't available anyway. Sucks.
