Done...BillK hooked me up .204 Ruger once fired brass

If anyone has a bunch laying around I am looking to get my hands on some.

Midway has zero new ammo and Diamond K Brass is out.

I would like to get same headstamp if possible.

I am within 50 miles of Houston, TX.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Resized fired cases don't fit back into my 204's

If he was starting with once fired 204 brass, it is unlikely due to forming issues. If these were fired from his rifle, it has to be in the resizing. I have a pre 64 Win. Model 70 (270 Winchester) that will fire just about anything. I have a Ruger #1 in 270 that I have to keep rounds separate for. I...

If you can...Mill off ten thousandths off the top of your shell holder. See if that fixes it. Many years ago, I had a bum shell holder and had this problem.

Nosler .204 Bullet

Nosler has a big sale going on their .204 32 gr. FBHP bullets.

I bought about 500.

Just thought I would share.

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others

I'm betting you will like it fine. I was planning on going to my home range yesterday. Turned out my SIL and daughter were heading out to the boonies on a camping trip with their kids (grandkids). I was planning on my SIL helping me setting up and whatnot. Next week will be good. I am hoping he does...

Re: Shot Shell Reloading

Thanks...It was the 8567 I needed.

FINALLY getting to go to Texas City (shooting range) tomorrow. I had hoped for 200+, but am happy with 100.

Will shoot rifle and skeet and then spend the night at youngest daughters. Doesn't get any better than that.

Re: Shot Shell Reloading

Would you mind posting a photo of the chain set up on the auto prime. The movers took mine off and I lost it and got a new one and can't figure out how it is supposed to go on anymore.

Re: Stainless Steel Media

My first order got lost in the mail and Scott of Sleeping Giant Brass sent me a replacement order. Very stand up company.

I ran a load of .308 Win brass yesterday and it looks a little sandblasted, unlike pins. It cleaned well though.

It will still be much better for my 20-22 caliber brass.

I'm liking the coyote laminate and that's what I ordered for the R783 build. I hope I like it in person as much as I do in the pictures. Time will tell.
I am betting that you will. I have it on my 22-250.

I just hope I can get to a range to shoot. Nice load. I have a few I have yet to shoot yet.

Re: Problem

Bad way to do it. If you know the inside diameter of the case that is stuck, you can get a tap that will fit and thread the inside of the case. Use plenty of oil so you won't accidently score the chamber. Once threaded, get a long (LONG) piece of all-thread and screw it into the body of the case (be...

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others

As Skipper said, lots of information and some good advice is available from members and the loading manuals. You will enjoy the 204 R cartridge, it is a very good one and does a fine job on varmints and paper. Your collection of rifles looks very nice and well cared for. Welcome aboard. Bill K :) A...

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others

Sooner or later you're going to need some advice for that 204 Ruger. They have a bad habit of forming the dreaded carbon ring just past the chamber that will make you think the whole rifle is messed up. Easy enough fix! Some bore paste will clear things up in short order. Other issues are the twist...

Re: Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others

The #1's had custom wood. Here are a couple others made by the same stock maker. He was a Mechanical Engineer and Machinist at the Monsanto Plant in Texas City until he retired in the mid 70's. My Dad became friends with him in the late 40's/early 50's. They built many a rifle together. I remained f...

Ruger Rifles...plus one or two others

Been shooting Ruger rifles since the early 70's. My first was an M77 Tang safety in 6mm Remington built in 1970 for me. My Dad had a custom adult size stock built for it and kept the original and cut it down to fit my 11 year old self. He built a .270 Winchester and 25-06 in the Ruger #1 model in 19...
