Re: FH deburr?

hunterapp wrote:How are you determining how deep to run your K&M deburr tool?
That tool will only cut to a fixed depth. You cannot (without serious modification) adjust it. It gauges off the bottom of the case, not the neck.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a 21,000 watt ultrasonic cleaner at the shop, but it's 2'x 2'x 4' and holds around 100 gallons. It does have 10 transducers, but I think it'd take a bit too much work to change out the fluids. That is unless all you guys want to send me your brass and I could do 10,0...

Just read this while surfing some Redneck Pr0n.

The Model M468. It can be useful to a hunter and it is fun to shoot.

As for Mr Zumbo, well he should have know better. And I agree, his apology was not an apology but rather a CYA maneuver.

I run those steps in the ultrasonic as well. I run multiple beakers so it's fairly quick as I usually have two beakers in the cleaner at once. However, the first test I did with the koolaid was just a 5 minute soak. I think the hot tap water rinses could replace the ultrasonic rinses as well and I'l...

KoolAid

Yep, one of those little packets of unsweetened KoolAid in a quart of water. I suggest the lemon-aid flavor because it won't stain your hands. Here is my new procedure. 24 minutes in the vinegar / water / soap (no warmer than room temperature). A quick rinse under the tap. 3 minutes hot tap water. 3...

I wonder who they talked to? The two folks I talked to don't know anything about it.

I am about to make public (to this forum at least) my new Cheap and Shiny method of cleaning (A combination of the Cheap and Clean + my recently discovered neutralizer / brightener). It does not require the solvent or Birchwood Casey cleaner and costs about twenty cents (Yes I said $0.20). I will po...

I recently started cleaning my brass using an ultrasonic unit. 2 cycles @ 480 seconds in the vinegar/water/soap solution (I use a little more soap than in the recipe in the 6mmbr article. 1 cycle @ 180 seconds in chevron tar solvent. (Will use Birchwood Casey when I'm out of the solvent) edit: above...
