Been getting some, changing up my calls ( using Fox pup distress, coin fight, etc.) but noticing I have to stay on stands 35-45 minutes before they come in.

I have all Vortex, a 6-24X50 strike eagle on my .204, A 5-25x50 pst gen2 on my 6mmCM, a 15-60x52 golden eagle on my 6.5CM, plus assorted others. very good luck with them, they track great, are clear & never needed warrenty so far. my 2 cents.

After breaking in my Savage 110 with 26" barrel & bell and Carlson stock I tested numerous powders & bullets settling on 2 bullets, 35 grain Bergers & 39 SBK. First load is slower charge of 8208 xbr ( 25.7) for a mv of 3540 and SD of 12.5 ES of 23 group size 0.21" at 100. Depth...
my savage liked 27.7 for 3868mv & depth of 2.000 for .021 groups. went out 5/5/19 to shoot PD's also took steel & set it 355 yds to verify load/scope at distance. made Strelok adjustments then had fun, couple 400+ kills, most were 175-350. no young out yet.
great story & pics, im from SD also, Mobridge to be exact. I get leery about walking through towns as always have rattlers trying to chew on me making me sceam like a schoolgirl. cant wait to shoot some myself as im tired of this winter already. (edit,, sorry, thought you were from SD)
I put a 20 moa rail on mine,, needed, no, but not gonna hurt plus now i have almost all availiable elevation if needed. besides, its what i had laying around.
I started with the caldwell & it worked fine but always needed a perfect day so i didnt have to fiddle with sun shades, rain, etc. now i use a Labradar everytime since i do lots of load devopment,, just set on bench next to barrel & shoot, no problems. was going to get a Magnetospeed but non...
Rick, thanks for the info. I did buy a couple hundred 39 gr Sierra blitz kings as I see they are very popular. Looking forward to reading up on some load recipes.
