tikka's are fine rifles, here in the uk they are very popular and always shoot great usually 1/2 moa with good loads, if youre looking a carry rifle the stainless synthetic model is great, the only thing I have heard bad about them is that some of the models stocks are a bit flimsy in the forend and...

montana extreme 50 bmg? Strong stuff? Jag reaction?

I decided after alot of rounds this week I would clean the bore with some montana extreme 50bmg. I usually just use wipeout but I was thinking there could be a lot of cooper. I thought at first I had tonnes of cooper and wipeout hadnt been doing the job as the blue just kept coming but I think it ju...

two foxes for the .204

had planned to go out lamping with a good friend last night as I had been on this ground with the air rifle 2 weeks previous and seen a few foxes around. It rained off and on all day at work so wasnt sure if we would get out, but I checked the metcheck and it said no rain in my area the rest of the ...

How close to the lands are you getting? Trim lengths?

just wondering how close you guys are able to get to the lands with your .204's, i know they are notoriously long in the throat the best I can get with a 32g v-max is 0.024 off the lands and that only leaves 0.070 of the bullet inside the case! Also I made up a chamber guage today to see what I shou...

Whistlepig you are sure right about those ww cases, I got a bag of 100 and started to pick out the best ones, didnt end up with much that I was happy with so went to hornady brass which is much better, I was trying to get Norma but it seems to be as rare as rocking horse dung, I also reckon the wils...

yeah you do need a different holder for fired cases however I personally dont trim new cases and prefer to wait until the first firing, I always reckon the first firing on new brass is just fireforming to your chamber, also depending on the brass length and chamber length sometimes I like to let the...

had a nice walk evening (obvisouly with a gun)

went for a dander yesterday evening on one of my favorite shoots and took the cooper along in hope of anyhting that might pop up at long range, first off got a crow at a smidge over 200 yards, he was the biggest out of the flock that were down so he was singled out and got a feed of sierra blitzking...

Wipeout is it all you really need?

do you think wipeout is all you really need to clean a barrel? I discovered wipeout a few months ago and its all I use these days, my regime with it is usually five wet patches with wipeout accelorator to take out the worst dirt, then put in the foam and leave it too sit for a few hours and patch ou...

cubs at this time of the year here are at least two months old so more than capable of looking after themselves, there is no closed season on foxes here as they are vermin and due to sheep farms being in the middle of lambing season coinciding with hungry fox cub season fox control is very important...
