PDogs July 8th
Was able to get out this week to take down some more Central MT PDogs. Cooler and overcast with light rain showers when I arrived at first town. Shot 3 rounds with 2 kills, definitely less in this town. Moved to a new area the landowner wanted me to shoot in since he had moved his cow/calves out. A ...

PDogs June 24th
Was able to get out this week to shot some PDOGS, been 13 days since last outing due to weather. Nice warm morning when I arrived @ 0900, 73 degrees with light winds. Went to a newer shooting area and let the bullets fly, shooting from the shooting bench in back of truck. Lots of PDOGS out, but afte...

Re: Looking for recommendations for new gun.
So I added a Burris Fullfield E1 6.5-20x50mm with the “Milling Varmint” reticle. The reticle is very similar to the Leupold scope that I have on my Remington .204. This scope was made for the flat shooting, long range, smaller caliber guns. Was specifically made for the .22-250. It has been pretty e...

Re: PDogs June 11th
Sorry should have added this. I believe the reason I was so successful from the “sniping” position was I able to get into firing position without any PDogs sounding the alarm, I heard no barking at all. Second reason is I have shot in this area for 3 weeks and after each shot the “report” would echo...

PDogs June 11th
Went out to same area to shoot PDogs, started on new land with small towns, first one only saw about a dozen PDogs, whacked 4 and then moved to another new area. More PDogs out but they have been shot at and most disappeared after the first shot rang out. Got 4 there also. Went back to my spot that ...

PDogs June 5th
Went back to same town as last week, definitely less targets, but spent several hour’s thinning them out. Was sunny and little wind once again. More adults out this week and less pups. Occasionally after the shooting is all done I like to walk the shooting field for pictures and to get yardage back ...

Re: More PDogs 5/28
Talking with the 2 landowners this past week, the plague has been here the last 2 years.👎 The PDog numbers are down considerably, numerous PDog towns are now barren. But like any of the plagues it is hit or miss, some towns totally wiped out and some towns completely untouched. One of the young pups...

More PDogs 5/28
Was able to get out today on another landowners property to take down some PDogs. Nice sunny about 65 degrees, very light winds. Landowner said that this piece had not been shot this spring! 😃👍 More than happy to check it out, lots of dogs and lots of pups out. Gave lots of pups “flying lessons” the...

My shootin’ setup
Since it’s been asked for, this is my shooting setup here in MT. Caldwell Stable Table in back of my Tundra, little extra height is good for spotting/shooting the varmints. Easy to move from one shooting area to another (i.e. 50 yards or 100 yards) still have all my supplies with me. This is in back...

PDogs
Been looking for areas to shoot PDogs now that the weather has turned warm and the winds have subsided. Found an area the landowner said that he had some up on his property line. Heard them before I saw them, started glassing them from about 150 yards, about a dozen out and about. Got to within 75 y...

Re: Looking for recommendations for new gun.
Thanks for the reply. I would like to have the same scope for both guns. I agree having the same reticle would alleviate problems. Unfortunately Leopold does not make that scope/reticle any more that I can find on their website. I spotted one on E-Bay but it is more than what I paid 7 years ago when...

Looking for recommendations for new gun.
Just purchased a CZ 527 Varmint in .204 cal. I am looking for recommendations for a new scope for this gun, similar to what I have on my older Remington 700 SPS in .204. I have a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x50 with the Varmint Hunters Reticle. I really like this reticle so I am hoping to find something simi...
