Re: Keeping brass bright
While lighter fluid may very well shine and protect brass and is fine for the type of brass on a uniform, it is highly inadvisable to use any petroleum products on brass ammo casings for obvious reasons.

Re: i need a clean burning powder !
I've been using Hodgdon Titegroup in my 9mm. Seems to burn plenty clean for me. Clean enough I can burn through about 300 rds in a single range trip with no hiccups at all After that many rds still no more crud than if I only shot a 50 rnd box.

Re: Keeping brass bright
If you want to keep that bright shine longer you have to protect the brass from oxygen. After wet cleaning my brass I let it dry and then dry tumble in corncob with some Turtle Wax All Metal Polish drizzled in. The Turtle Wax polish will help keep that shine as it helps to slow the oxidation . Just ...

casting alloy
This has absolutely nothing to do with the 204, but since I don't know anyone that reloads that doesn't also load for pistols too I figured, why not ask? My question is this .. Is it possible to incorporate graphite powder into my alloy to make self lubing bullets? Recently, I was given a gallon siz...

Re: How many times neck sizing before f/l?
Personally, I gave up neck sizing a long time ago as I have never noticed any substantial increase in case life by neck sizing only. Also, by neck sizing till you feel like the bolt is getting hard to close, you are shooting a load out of a case that is progressively getting larger and simultaneousl...

Re: lets talk powder.....
I noticed no one posted anything about IMR 4166. Is anyone using it in the 204 and if so what were the results? I just picked up a lb of it yesterday , but havn't tried it out yet.

10/22 trigger tip
A few years back I installed a Volquartzen hammer kit in my 10/22. It lowered the pull weight drastically, but it still had a mile of travel before finally breaking. Recently I saw a Youtube video where some guy put JB weld on the hammer to reduce the depth of engagement of the sear staging it close...

Re: How much neck tension you guys running?
Neck tension varies like the wind. Regardless of what your calipers read the tension on the bullet will depend on the hardness of the brass. Freshly annealed cases will have different tension on the bullet than a case with 4 or 5 firings on it. This is why many benchresters anneal after each firing ...

.204R throat erosion.
Given the fact that these rifles seem to have extra ordinarily long throats, shooting relatively short bullets to begin with and a lot of hot high pressure gas forcing it's way down a tiny bore have any of you experienced significant throat erosion to the point of needing to set the barrel back? If ...

Re: What am I missing here?
Have you used a case comparator to check the shoulder datum points on all the cases after sizing? If they are the same and you then trim, your issue lies in the seating die and in that case the die to shell holder distance only would come into play if you are also crimping. If your shoulders are at ...

Re: What am I missing here?
Take the die apart and look in the seating stem for debris. You might have something trapped in the cavity of the stem that as it changes positions in there it is contacting the bullet at differing points along it's taper.

Re: Help with value on a DTECH .204R upper
Can you let us know what kind of groups it shoots? Hard to put a price on an upper. The market is flush with AR stuff. To me prices are performance based when it comes to AR stuff. If this particular upper shoots fantastic groups it will command a much higher price than the average used upper that c...

Re: titegroup mixed in BL-C(2)
Let's see. There are 7,000 grains in 1 pound.. I sort of doubt that a mere 57 grains of any powder thoroughly mixed in would be dangerous. It would seem to me that it would be diluted to a point that it couldn't possibly be dangerous in a modern firearm in good condition. If I did use it in my rifle...
