Best .204 brass
About to place an order for 200 pieces of brass, and a 500 count box of 39 blitz's. Which brand of brass seems to be the best. Norma claims to be the best, but i always read about primer pockets coming loose. since i am shooting a hot load, i would rather not have a 4-5 shot brass life... thoughts??...

Re: lets talk powder.....
well, i bought H4895 just so if i didn't like it i could use it in my .30-06 as well... and well, its not going in the 06 :-D.... worked up to an over max book load, 3787 fps and .6" 5 shot group with a flier. .343" 4 shot group without the flier. Needless to say, i'll deal with the crunch...

Re: Is all the Copper rerally out
here is what i've always used in my tikka t3, .30-06, which copper foules like no other. Wipe out foam. let soak until foam breaks down, nylon brush it probably 20 strokes each direction, using bore guide. 3-10 patches with a tight jag until seemingly clean. re apply wipe out foam, wait 24 hours. ti...

Re: CZ-527 Varmint Kevlar sure loves 39 blitz’s
Thank you Rick!!! Now that’s awesome advice! My cuz is as close to perfect as I can see it! The only down side is the magazine is Terrible. Any more than 3 rounds in it and it gouges the brass badly. I’ve filed and polished the feed lips and it helped, and usually just single load not using the maga...

Re: The only problem i had with my cz 527
mine does this as well. i took some 4000 grit polishing paper/sand paper and smoothed the inside of the lips. i still scuff brass but not terrible. i'll see if i can clean it up any more

Re: CZ-527 Varmint Kevlar sure loves 39 blitz’s
The best part about this rifle is it’s easy to shoot. The worst part is I can’t find locally a .20 cal rod and jag... using a bore snake for now. Every few shots. I know the copper is going to build up.

Re: lets talk powder.....
i'm fairly certain i'm going to the CFE223. Its just easy to find, and the .204 is a known copper fouler as it is. also it seems as its a good velocity powder as well. Of course in this caliber, I won't be chasing velocity, i want to really hit the gong at 600 yards! I"ll dope the shot as much ...

lets talk powder.....
what do you guys seem to have the best results with.....
8208?
CFE223?
Benchmark?
Varget?
4166?
TAC?
I have 39 grain sierra BK's... and plenty of brass... going to use Gold medal Match small rifle primers, and plan on just grabbing one powder for now.... Which do you guys seem to prefer?

Re: Hello! New to .204!
well i had my local shop order me a set of dies (hornady standard i think) and a box of the 39 grain sierra BK's. Everyone seems to say use that bullet. I have just about all powders available to me, but i'm leaning hard towards the CFE223 just for the copper fouling properties. I can get the XBR820...

CZ 527 Varmint Kevlar got her first Groundhog!
distance was 125 yards. Off a shooting stick (single stick type). Bullet went in basically right front breast area of the groundhog, and did not exit. I couldn't believe the 32gn VMax superformance varmint load did not exit. But the groundhog was flung 2-3 foot backwards and never twitched. I hope t...

Re: Hello! New to .204!
Well, it's a shooter! I topped it with a Nikon 4-12 buckmaster and zerod it at 100. This thing is beyond more accurate Than me. I shot 3 touching at 100, it's amazing. The set trigger takes some serious getting used too. I keep pulling shots because it's so light. But boy is it crisp!

Re: Hello! New to .204!
thank you! Now I am a speed freak.... the thought of going over 4000 fps gets me all giddy inside... i push my .30-06 150 grains past 3000 fps and i get all warm and fuzzy... (currently have Just under 3100 fps with a 150 grain Nosler BT using max load of superformance powder... hehehehehehehehe) I ...
