Re: Range Rookies

I really like the range I go to for it's rock solid concrete benches and how close it is to my house. But you get the sense that they don't care for bechrest shooters. It would be nice to have a seperate area away from the .30 cal machineguns, .50 BMGs and Range Rookies. Rick, we have found a...

Broken Loaded Chamber Indicator

I went to the range to check out a new red dot sight for my Ruger MKIII. Allthough I was very impressed with my groups (1 hole ten shot groups @ 11 yds) at shot 89 the gun jambed, I felt some powder burns on my hand and the last round in the magazine was squished. I popped the clip out and as I clea...

Re: ws2 test

'Waldo I was wondering if a rifle has to be seasoned with the WS-2 or does the barrel have to be mopped with it before using the coated bullets? :?:

Range Rookies

So I'm at the range last friday doing my best to shoot bugholes in my Postal Shoot target when a group of 3 people start setting up 2 benches away. One of them I see has a member badge, another looks experienced enough, and the 3rd is obviously a "friend". Murphy's law dictates that when t...

Re: XR-100 Changes Hands

I know how you feel Skipper , My daughter seems to take over with my XR-100 whenever I take her P-doggin'. So I'm wondering whether I should buy her, her own .204 :chin:or maybe get myself a new one? And how the heck am I going to talk the wife into it? Hmmm my wife's birthday is this month... :idea...

Re: Postal Shoot Excuses

I guess I have to blame my inexperience on my ONE bad group. I went out to the range on friday to shoot my postal target, I was prepared and the wind wasn't to bad at all. I set up my Postal target at the top of the target board and a practice target underneath. I shot 5 fouler shots and an addition...

Did you shoot any fouling shots after cleaning your bore? I know my rifle likes at least 5 shots through it before its completely settled down.

Re: .204 Postal shoot practice

Its not that I don't like the wind, its just the type of wind that I don't like. When I was out there friday the wind was changing directions and intensity

Yeah... those groups I shot were right on the edge of making a try for the Postal target and I know I'm pushing the time limit... :chin:

.204 Postal shoot practice

I went out in hopes of puting some holes in my "Postal" target last friday, but it got windy so I turned it into a practice/load verification day. I have decided to go with 24.5 gr of REL-10x under some 39gr SBKs, CCI BR4s and Norma brass. This is quite a light load but when the conditions...

Re: 204 Ruger dot com Postal Shoot Info and what not.

I went to the range this morning in hopes of shooting my "POSTAL" target but while verifying my loads it started to get windy so I took my target down and decided to wait til next week. XR at rest http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r175/hozz57/9-21-07016.jpg Attempt at a through the scope ...

Re: Ruger Single Six LR Cylinder

Thanks for the info Rick , I like shootin' them magnums but they are a little to pricey for plinking. I'll keep on looking for a LR cylinder for it. So far the only place I've seen them is Ruger and they want me to send the piece in after waiting 60 days due to a backlog of repairs...I'd rather have...

Ruger Single Six LR Cylinder

Is it OK to shoot long rifle ammo out of a magnum cylinder in the Single Six? I just acquired a used piece that doesn't have a LR cylinder.
