Re: An 8 Coyote weekend
I'm glad that I am not a coyote, in your area..........They don't stand much of a chance. I'll bet the ones there, are glad you don't hunt EVERY day..........Don

Re: How about a 77 TG?
The reason I went with the walnut sporter instead of slimming down the laminate was this......
I think the solid wood is stronger in a recoil situation. The laminations seem to split...... I do some woodwork my own self. Don

Re: How about a 77 TG?
I concur with dogkiller about riding bags nice. That is the only time the clunky laminated beavertail vt stock shines. It absolutely sucks for using shooting sticks and is uncomfortable to carry. Replace the stock with a sporter and it will match the feel of the tang models that you had before. I an...

Re: ruger 77 all weather ultralite
But they do in 7/08....... And it'll do anything the 308 will. I have a limited run model in the targetgrey finish. Sweet piece. Don

Re: ruger 77 all weather ultralite
You better rethink the 308. The ul long actions don't feel the same as the shorts. If the 'feeling' of your 204 is what you are after, stick with a short action cal. My take....Don

Re: Hunter needs new rifle. What to get?
GTR, Talo commissioned the target-grey ultra lites in 7/08 for Whitetails Unlimited. Some wholesalers may still have some. Mine was from a previous uncataloged run of 500. Ruger has done at least 3 runs of the T-G ultralites that I know of. Mine may have come from Davidsons.... Keen little rifles. L...

Re: Hunter needs new rifle. What to get?
My pick was a Kimber Montana. More money, but worth it......In EVERY way. Mine (260 rem)runs 6 lbs. all up with talley lw's and a leup compact 3x9. My wife uses a ruger ultralite in 7/08 that is 20 in barrel, target-grey. It runs slightly heavier than the kimber, and sports a lighter contoured barre...

Not something ya see every day.......
Took some kids out to the ranch to shoot. I brought some toys, my brother brought some toys. I had a chance to take a turn on his galil in .223. What a gooood time. Don.
Re: 17 HM2
Last I checked, Brass down the defroster vents in CO. shouldn't be a problem while shooting prairie dogs. It's against the law to shoot from a vehicle, so we all know it (brass on the dash) never happens.........Don Here is the reg. Look at 1)a, 1)b We have enuff law-breakers here already. http://19...

Re: Ruger Target grey finish
jay, the leupold target grey is a pretty fair match to the ruger target grey finish. It is shinier, tho. More of a 'gloss' target grey, if you can imagine that. Burris has a grey finish scope that I kinda liked the looks of. The power ring and other accents are in black rubber. Again, not a perfect ...

Re: Ruger 77 target
glenngtr, I've had quite a few of the older tang 77 VT's (like ricks) and 2 of the MKII's, both in .204. All have been real shooters, the only dogg ruger I have ever had was a bicentennial in 22-250 (not a VT). Nothing would make it shoot .The first MKII VT was replaced by ruger after blowing it up....

Re: PDs shoot from Memorial weekend, I hope!
race4, thanks for the pics...... hidalgo, what's up with these lefty boys and VT's? Both mine are left eyes... http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c124/huntsman22/guns/IMG_1309.jpg I'm kinda jealous of you guys benches. I built one (cobbled, as rick would say) after this pic was taken on the sawhorse ...
