Re: Sent VX-L To Leopold
I agree, I've been using the MOA hash marks for wnd hold on my non Leopold optic along with the Shooter app to good effect.

Re: Sent VX-L To Leopold
another and equal factor in my decision was that there were only two different power settings (2nd focal plan) to fit a whole bunch of calibers, and I was never really zeroed at any range and for instance, on the 204 Leopold figured ballistics at just over 4200 fps. When the scope was on the 22-250 ...

Sent VX-L To Leopold
To get the BC Reticle to work with the 204 I had to sight in at 10X (on the small triangle, if you're familiar w the BC Varmint reticle) so using a 20X scope at 10X just wasn't cutting it on sage rats. Leopold is installing an MOA reticle which will allow me to use the 20X, as those squirrels looked...

Re: WS2 Coated Bullets
I was right there this time, no excuses, I think I'll look into Coating again Silver Fox coats his bullets, but he's the only one I've noticed. I bought coated Moly bullets for my 22-250 for 4 or 5 years to reduce friction heat and to reduce cleaning time, not sure about either, but accuracy was ver...

Re: Rodents under ground, but rabbits out
Bill, I see factory ammo on the table, what's the deal? I was up in Burney for Dove opener, we did OK, would have been better if our secret spot wasn't so well known. Doves came into this feeding place from every possible direction over 80' pines...talk about keeping one's head on a swivel!! Yeah, I...

Re: Ground Squirrel Utopia
I figure best case scenario WX dependent is January for more Utopic days...Sigh***** One shootin friend went out last week said in an hr of looking he saw 6 sage rats in two fields or 2 rats 3 times, thinks they are youngsters who spent too much time playing tag and not enough eating. Our ranches do...

Re: ND PD Hunt 8-21-2018
Nice shooting and pics GF, I see those cooling devices at the range including diy ones, I just get mine in the shade and vertical and let convection work, takes a while though. there are a occasional Squirrel wandering around but not worth a long drive unless it's just cabin fever getting you out. B...

Re: ND PD Hunt 7-20-2018
Always enjoy your hunts SilverFox, and the issue with the other shooters, it seems those who show little or no common sense or courtesy seem to plead ignorance, kinda makes sense though. Although I'm a 204 believer now I still take it and shoot my 22-250 built on a Rem 722 action, LilJa sporter weig...

Re: last Shoot of 18, maybe
Nice shooting Bill, I've found a couple of fields up against the sage that produce Jacks at times, no Coyotes in past 3 yrs though, I'm using mouth calls but maybe I should move up to Electronic, what are you using?

Re: last Shoot of 18, maybe
No everything's the same just a diff cam angle I think. I'm hesitate to guess but maybe 50% fewer on top now, it pays to have multiple ranches, I can almost always find baled or swathed fields.

last Shoot of 18, maybe
Did a solo 3 days and 2 nights in Surprise Valley, can't really make Surprise Valley for a morning shoot so I stop in Bieber, had a good shoot till about 0900 when 3 bald eagles decided to fight each other over squirrels which put the live squirrels back in the ground so I left early, probably could...
