Re: What is this telling me?

Thanks Skipper. That's the way I understood it but wanted to confirm my suspicions before loading these up again. I pulled all these bullets from rounds I had loaded prior to weighing them. Again, these are not my hunting rounds and are for load development. To continue this discussion a bit, do all...

Re: Is the Cost of Reloading really worth it?

I calculated my cost per round last year and it came to .37 cents per round. I don't remember how I figured the cost of the brass, probably took the price of 100 new brass and divided that by 10. Another benefit to us living in Ca. is not having to purchase factory ammo from licensed dealers as we c...

What is this telling me?

Sometimes my brain locks up and even the simple things can be confusing so please humor me with what may seem like a simple question. In a different post, I submitted a photo of some .32 gr. lead-free bullets that I weighed on my Chargemaster Lite scale that showed a wide range of weights. After sor...

Re: 2019 5 Shot Challenge Preparation Topics

I don't think posting a couple of target photos will keep anyone from entering this year's competition-at least I hope not! The goal I think is to encourage us to get out and shoot and to continue looking for ways to improve while sharing what we've learned. The first year I entered, I came in somew...

Re: 2019 5 Shot Challenge Preparation Topics

Man, that would suck not being able to reload! At least here in the commie state of Ca. it's one area they have left alone-so far!. Sorry you can't enjoy reloading your own bullets Bunny Shooter but hope you'll join us in this year's 5 shot challenge. Randy.

Re: Sorting brass by weight

Thanks Skipper-I checked out that article and so far the only thing I haven't done is neck turned my brass. It's one of the reloading components high on my wish list and so far I'm leaning towards the 21 century model. Any help is appreciated. R!

Re: 2019 5 Shot Challenge Preparation Topics

I gotta admit-it's the 5 shot challenge that got me headed down this OCD path of reloading. I've participated the past 2 years and did a lot of load development leading up to each year's shoot. Actually, it gave me another excuse to get out of the house and go to the range to convert gunpowder to no...

Sorting brass by weight

204 brass.jpg In one of my previous posts I was asking about the differences in the weights of my lead-free 32 gr. bullets. I have about 300 sorted now and a few hundred more to go but it's time to move on to something else so-Someone had suggested that I also sort my brass by weight also and that'...

Re: Overpressure signs

Thanks Jim. I read all 3 pages on saubier and am wondering if you've heard back from Cooper yet on the status of the rifle? It sounds like you got a lot of good advice and hopefully have identified the problem. I recently was loading a hundred rounds with 2200 and .2 grain differences in powder. Abo...

Re: weight differences in 32 gr. lead free bullets

Thanks Bill. I'll check the cases before loading for the 5 shot this year. I had been doubting my shooting techniques when I can get 3 or 4 shots touching and then get that one shot that had me wondering Where in the heck did that come from? I probably won't be that picky for the everyday bulk loadi...

Re: weight differences in 32 gr. lead free bullets

Thanks for the input guys! I didn't do the math to see what the percentage was of the bullets that weren't the weight they were suppose to be but wow! Wish I could've that far off when I had my cabinet shop and not have customers complain. Were these bullets made by former weather forcasters? I've s...

weight differences in 32 gr. lead free bullets

While reloading the other night I put some of the bullets I was using on the scale to see how close to 32 gr. they actually were. I was really surprised how much variation there was. These were 32 gr. lead free ballistic tip Noslers. Is this typical of what you guys are seeing? I usually get out a p...

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. So far I'm not see anything like #3. Randy.
